That&#8217;s exactly why Austrian mountain bike rider and YouTube star Gabriel Wibmer recently rolled into town with his Canyon Torque DH CLLCTV for a video shoot. The storyline has Gabriel witness a handbag getting snatched right in front of him. Without missing a beat, the 23-year-old gives chase recapturing the bag in an insane pursuit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel&#8217;s latest urban-downhill clip,&nbsp;&#8220;Wibmer Impossible,&#8221;&nbsp;makes a bold statement about precision, technique, and balls of steel, and proves once again why the Austrian is one of the most impressive bike athletes of his generation.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe  id=\"_ytid_68275\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"  data-origwidth=\"800\" data-origheight=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dhe7wRlA-kI?enablejsapi=1&#038;autoplay=0&#038;cc_load_policy=0&#038;cc_lang_pref=&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;loop=0&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;playsinline=0&#038;autohide=2&#038;theme=dark&#038;color=red&#038;controls=1&#038;disablekb=0&#038;\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  epyt-is-override  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While the fast, risky stair sets \u2013 whether jumped or blasted \u2013 demanded perfect speed judgment and risk assessment, it was the technically trickier moves that took the most attempts: the jump off the wall, timed perfectly to the thief&#8217;s footsteps, took over 50 tries. The fakie stair set or back wheel jumps on the rails also demanded serious mental and physical endurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/12\/gabrielwibmer-2025-hannesberger1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10556\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Hannes Berger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel&#8217;s personal highlight \u2013 and arguably the biggest challenge \u2013 was the stepdown backflip between the trees<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>The stepdown flip was totally new for me. The takeoff wasn&#8217;t perfectly shaped and only 30 centimeters (1ft.) high. Even after some test jumps, I wasn&#8217;t sure until the last second if I should go for it or if it would even work. That was a real challenge.<\/p><cite>Gabriel Wibmer<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/12\/gabrielwibmer-2025-hannesberger2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10557\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Hannes Berger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another standout moment in the clip is riding over the arch of the 34-meter (100ft.)-high Troja Bridge. The moment Gabriel saw the spot, he knew:\u00a0<em>&#8220;I have to hit this.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0Although pedaling up was tougher than expected, he still had enough left in the tank for a spontaneous wheelie: &#8220;<em>The wheelie wasn&#8217;t planned \u2013 originally, I just wanted to ride over it \u2013 but once I got to the top, I thought, &#8216;why not?'&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The production in Prague spanned a total of 26 days in four blocks, but Gabriel says it could have easily gone another month \u2013 Prague&#8217;s potential is almost endless. The project was executed with a tight crew of four to five people, plus a security guard handling mostly camera gear in the busy city streets. The bike of choice? Gabriel&#8217;s Canyon Torque DH CLLCTV freeride bike equipped with a Marzocchi Bomber double-crown fork seemed to be a good fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>Besides the stepdown flip, I&#8217;m really proud of the whole video in general. It&#8217;s a new style with a storyline running through the entire clip. We really pushed ourselves to create something great, and I&#8217;m super proud of the result. It feels amazing.
