Calm and composed from top to bottom, Hastings laid down the fastest women\u2019s run of the day with a time of\u00a03:27.280, extending her advantage through the technical lower sections to secure the win.\u00a0Pushed from the hot seat into second place,\u00a0Louise Ferguson\u00a0stepped up a position from her bronze result in Rotorua last year, putting together a strong and consistent run.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right behind Ferguson,\u00a0Kate Hastings continued her rapid rise in the\u00a0Elite ranks. Having made her\u00a0category debut only earlier this year,\u00a0Kate\u00a0Hastings showed once again that she belongs among the best, finishing\u00a0third\u00a0after already giving fans a glimpse of her potential last season when she claimed the\u00a0U19 title at the\u00a0K\u0101rearea\u00a0Downhill.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably,\u00a0Sacha\u00a0Earnest\u00a0still\u00a0managed to secure\u00a0fifth place\u00a0despite taking a tumble in the bottom section of what was shaping up to be a podium-worthy run.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/03\/crankworxrotorua-2026-downhill-ctrahan-jennahastings.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10677\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Jenna Hastings \/ photo: Clint Trahan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Luke\u00a0Meier-Smith Dominates in Rotorua Debut\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the men\u2019s race,\u00a0Luke Meier-Smith delivered a commanding performance in his\u00a0first appearance at Crankworx Rotorua.\u00a0Starting last after qualifying fastest in\u00a0Thursday\u2019s Seeding,\u00a0Luke\u00a0Meier-Smith once again proved why he is one of the most exciting\u00a0Downhill racers\u00a0to watch this\u00a0season.
