Friedrichshafen, Germany \u2013 Lots of people are looking forward to the opening of the Eurobike on August 31, but bicycle dealers, especially, have the date reserved. A study conducted by the bike industry portal OnBikeX.de found that the bike trade fair at Lake Constance in southern Germany remains of the highest importance for the specialized retail segment.<\/p>\n

\"Eurobike:<\/center><\/p>\n

The coming August will mark a special occasion for the Eurobike: The 25th edition of the exhibition simultaneously marks its 25th anniversary! The Eurobike premiered in August of 1991 (and was not held in 1992). The fair has long since left behind its beginnings as an event for the mountain bike scene, then of rather modest size, and established itself as the world\u2019s leading trade fair for the bike industry with around 1,350 exhibitors.<\/p>\n

But the Eurobike is held dear at home in Germany, too, remaining one of the most important appointments of the year for domestic specialist visitors. This was emphasized by a recent study performed by the online portal OnBikeX.de.<\/p>\n

The database of OnBikeX.de contains practically every company relevant to the specialized bike trade in Germany. The study identified all the most significant suppliers and manufacturers in the German bike trade.<\/p>\n

Then this listing from the OnBikeX database was compared with the latest listing of exhibitors to be at the next Eurobike. The results: Germany\u2019s bike trade is served with goods from a total of 538 suppliers. Of those, 455 will be represented at the 2016 Eurobike. Thus, bike dealers from Germany will be able to meet about 85% of their suppliers and manufacturers at the specialist trade fair in Friedrichshafen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most important function of a leading trade fair is to serve as a central meeting point for its entire industry, to spare everyone in the market the expense of organizing or attending numerous smaller individual events. The study by OnBikeX.de nicely confirms the value of the Eurobike as the most important date for Germany\u2019s bike trade,\u201d said Stefan Reisinger, Managing Director at Messe Friedrichshafen responsible for the Eurobike.<\/p>\n

And the figure of 85% may climb yet a bit further by the time the Eurobike starts on August 31: \u201cWe haven\u2019t yet finalized the distribution of stands at the 2016 Eurobike, and in the next few days we\u2019ll be able to invite a few of the companies on our list of new customers to attend. And those customers were not considered in the study by OnBikeX.de,\u201d Reisinger explained.<\/p>\n

The Eurobike will be open between Wednesday, August 31, and Saturday, September 3, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the Business Days, from Wednesday through Friday, the 2016 Eurobike will be accessible only to industry visitors and accredited journalists. On the Festival Days, Saturday and Sunday, the Eurobike will be open to the general public.<\/p>\n
