{"id":5727,"date":"2019-07-22T19:25:29","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T17:25:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/?p=5727"},"modified":"2025-10-21T11:04:39","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T09:04:39","slug":"enduro-world-series-2020-calendar-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/events\/2019\/enduro-world-series-2020-calendar-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"Enduro World Series 2020 calendar revealed!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Enduro World Series (EWS) is excited to unveil its 2020 calendar featuring eight incredible venues across three continents, as the fight to crown the world\u2019s best mountain biker starts all over again.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a9SpAAW0nDE\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The series returns to South America to kick off the season, and first up it\u2019s back to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/ews-manizales\/201966\/\" target=\"_blank\">Manizales, Colombia for round one.<\/a>\u00a0Manizales first featured on the EWS Calendar in 2018, where Colombia offered riders the warmest of welcomes and some of the wildest racing of the year. Featuring an intense downtown stage through the heart of the city before transferring to the forests that flank the area\u2019s hills, round one will offer up an electrifying start to the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-manizales-cecileravanel.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5730\"\/><figcaption>Cecile Ravanel weaving through the crowds during the downtown prologue in Manizales in 2018.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Round two will move the series north back to the dusty landscape of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/ews-lo-barnechea-\/201967\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lo Barnechea, Chile<\/a>. It may only be a short drive East of Santiago, but don\u2019t let the city\u2019s proximity fool you &#8211; the barren moonscape of the high Andes will offer up some of the most difficult and unpredictable terrain imaginable. Riders will be up against two days of racing under a blazing sun as they attempt to master the famous Chilean anti-grip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-lobarnechea.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5729\"\/><figcaption>The lunar landscape of Lo Barnechea will challenge riders once more<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s back to Europe for round three and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/ews-montagnes-du-caroux\/201968\/\" target=\"_blank\">Olargues &#8211; Montagnes Du Caroux<\/a>. Situated in the South West of France, the venue also featured in the 2018 calendar, and is remembered for its rocky and technical trails. With a completely new course lined up for the 2020 edition, riders can expect some classic French racing that will push their bike handling skills to the limit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-olargues.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5731\"\/><figcaption>Olargues-Montagnes Du Caroux is famous for it&#8217;s rocky, technical trails <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staying in Europe, it\u2019s back to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/ews-val-di-fassa-\/201969\/\" target=\"_blank\">Val Di Fassa in the Italian Dolomites for round four<\/a>. Making its EWS debut just this year, Val Di Fassa is already cemented as a rider favourite. Stunning views, long, physical stages and some welcome lift access ensured that there was never any doubt that the series would return to this incredible venue for another slice of classic Italian racing.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-valdifassa.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5733\"\/><figcaption>Val Di Fassa in Italy offers up amazing trails amongst some pretty incredible scenery<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Round five is another venue that\u2019s preparing a new course for its second appearance on the EWS circuit &#8211;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/black-hole-enduro-petzenjamnica\/201970\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Petzen\/Jamnica in Austria and Slovenia<\/a>. Featuring trails that cross between both Slovenia and Austria, this round made it\u2019s mark last year when it came second in the Specialized Trail of the Year competition\u00a0 for Thriller, the 6km long trail that served as the nail biting climax of the race here in 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-petzenjamnica.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5732\"\/><figcaption>Petzen Jamnica are busy preparing some brand new courses for 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The series then crosses the Atlantic for\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/crankworx-whistler\/201971\/\" target=\"_blank\">round six, to the inimitable Whistler in Canada<\/a>. The iconic Crankworx round barely needs an introduction, such is the legendary status of the world\u2019s largest mountain bike festival. Long trails, huge crowds and some of the rowdiest trails on earth make Whistler a fan and rider favourite every year.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-whistler.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5734\"\/><figcaption>Whistler&#8217;s iconic trails have featured in every edition of the EWS to date <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The series will draw to a close beneath the shadows of one of Europe\u2019s most iconic landmarks, the Matterhorn. For the second time in its history, the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-1\/traillove--ews-zermatt\/201965\/\" target=\"_blank\">EWS will finish in Zermatt, Switzerland.<\/a>\u00a0Round seven will provide a suitably dramatic finish to the season, as racers battle one last time to be crowned the series champions amongst some of Europe\u2019s highest peaks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/07\/enduroworldseries-2020-zermatt.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5735\"\/><figcaption>Zermatt will once more host the final round of the series \/ photo: Dario Furler<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EWS then turns its attentions to the hunt for the rainbow jersey and the all important\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enduroworldseries.com\/race\/ews-round-5\/trophy-of-nations-\/201972\/\" target=\"_blank\">Trophy of Nations which will again take place in the beautiful Finale Ligure, Italy<\/a>.
