The American has won this race every year since 2013. She made it seven this year, despite being sick (and admitting to throwing up before her race run).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThat was definitely hard for me,\u201d<\/em> said Kintner, who\u2019s return to Crankworx competition, in the\u00a0Canadian Open Enduro presented by Specialized\u00a0this past weekend, ended with a DNF. <em>\u201cI wasn\u2019t sure if I would even show up today because I\u2019ve been really sick all week\u2026But I felt really good on my bike.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her winning time today was her fastest to date:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2019: 4:17.97<\/li><li>2018: 4:23.52<\/li><li>2017: 4:24.18<\/li><li>2016: 4:22.74<\/li><li>2015: 4:30.30<\/li><li>2014: 4:42.69<\/li><li>2013: 4:34.48<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/crankworx-whistler-2019-airdh-georgiaastle.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5860\"\/><figcaption>Georgia Astle \/ photo: Fraser Britton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 37-year-old credited bike choice (choosing trail over downhill bike) and track conditions for her time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It was a lot smoother this year\u2026 and it rained the other day so the traction was ideal.<\/p><cite>&#8211; Jill Kintner<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the time the pro men dropped in, 2.5 hours after Kintner, a light but steady rain had fallen for most of the afternoon. \u201cIdeal\u201d was not what the last racer of the day was expecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/crankworx-whistler-2019-airdh-finniles.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5859\"\/><figcaption>Finn Iles \/ photo: Fraser Britton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I thought it was going to be a little bit more slippery with the rain. But as soon as I got on course and got through the first few corners I was like \u2018Ah, it\u2019s all good,\u2019 and just went as fast as I could.<\/p><cite>&#8211; Finn Iles<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iles would end up with the fastest time of the day, crossing the line in 3:57.04, just over one second faster than his winning time last year.&nbsp;As for what it\u2019s like to race Whistler\u2019s most famous trail, a trail known as being condusive to big style, rather than big speed?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cIt\u2019s hard work,\u201d<\/em> said an out-of-breath Iles. <em>\u201cReally hard work.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/crankworx-whistler-2019-airdh-valentinaholl.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5864\"\/><figcaption>Valentina H\u00f6ll \/ photo: Fraser Britton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full results<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Air DH\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0pro\u00a0women<\/li><li>Air DH\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0pro\u00a0men<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the\u00a0King and Queen of Crankworx\u00a0title was on the minds of the second place finishers. Mitch Ropelato took the second step on the podium today, earning himself some valuable points. He now sits in first in the overall, season-long race.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It was good. It was a little hectic with the rain though. I was a little nervous. Coming into the corners I was like \u2018Man, do I push it? Or do I just get through this corner?\u2019 I just made sure I was pushing on the pedals as hard as I could.<\/p><cite>&#8211; Mitch Ropelato<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/crankworx-whistler-2019-airdh-mitchropelato.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5862\"\/><figcaption>Mitch Ropelato \/ photo: Fraser Britton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the women\u2019s side, Georgia Astle (CAN) said her results from the week so far, which mirror Ropelato\u2019s (first in the&nbsp;Garbanzo DH&nbsp;and second today), are pushing her to consider taking her racing to the next level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cI would love to do that. That\u2019s the ultimate goal,\u201d<\/em> said Astle of tackling the full Crankworx World Tour.
