Mitch Ropelato (USA) continues his winning streak, having won the Garbanzo DH and the 100% Dual Slalom Whistler, taking another W in an event he wasn\u2019t plannning on competing in until a few days ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/43ride.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/crankworx-whistler-2019-speedstyle-mitchropelato.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5888\"\/><figcaption>Mitch Ropelato \/ photo: Jim Stokoe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As he gained momentum and climbed the points ladder in the overall standings, the American decided to throw his name in the hat for tonight\u2019s event. The result? A wild race that saw the 27-year-old facing off with multiple former champions as he pushed for the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThat was probably the gnarliest round,\u201d<\/em> he said of his matchup with Adrien Loron (FRA) in the Round of 16. Loron is a close second place in the overall. <em>\u201cSo much pressure in that start gate. You know he wanted it. I wanted it real bad. It was a good fight \u2018til the end.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ropelato would go on to beat Loron (who won Speed &amp; Style in Whistler in 2017, the same year he was crowned King), Daryl Brown (GBR) (2016 Les Gets Speed &amp; Style winner) and finally Tomas Lemoine (FRA) (who\u2019s won Speed &amp; Style three times: Innsbruck 2017, Innsbruck 2018 and Whistler 2018).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I knew I had 360s on lock. I ate crap the first round in practice today. I\u2019ve never been on the podium at Crankworx other that these past two days, so I\u2019m super stoked on that.
