For the first time ever – a FMB ranking has a tie and two Champions at the end of the season. After competing at some of the bigger events in Europe like Vienna Air King and Glemmride, Michael Riekeberg and Bernd Winkler both have 420pts.

Interestingly, the FMB US Cup Champion is Vinicius Gushiken – a Brazilian rider who competed in North America due to the developing scene in South America.

Vinicius Gushiken:

I am from Brazil and we have zero FMB competitions here. I think South America has some of the best riders and places to ride but mountain biking in Brazil is a really young sport. Bikes here are really expensive which makes it hard for kids to start riding. Kids who want to try out contests, save money, ride hard and go have fun. I really like that freeride MTB has a world tour! The world needs more MTB.

In the Canadian cup J.P. Maffret took the top spot on the ranking. He won the Wam Bam Dirt Jump Jam and the Hucken Berries Bike Jam this season, collecting 300pts and the overall win.

J.P. Maffret:

I’m really stoked on being 1st in the AM Canadian Cup. I really enjoyed the contests because it is a good way for upcoming riders to get their name out and get some exposure. My number one tip for any rider is to ride everyday and the contests and sponsors will come.
