Pleasant temperatures, fewer riders on the trails, incredible light, and fantastic landscapes: fall is a very special season for mountain biking – especially when you know which bike destinations are worth a visit. Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, the mountain bike region located on a sunny plateau high above the Tyrolean Upper Inntal valley, is certainly worth a visit. So, if you agree that the mountain bike season doesn’t end with summer, you might want to pay a visit to the picturesque alpine autumn landscape on the sun terrace at the foot of the Samnaun mountain range. Not convinced yet? Here are four reasons to mountain bike in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis in autumn.

1. Location, landscape, and scenery

At first glance, the location at around 1,400 meters above sea level suggests cold temperatures in the fall. However, the “Föhn” wind carries lots of dry and relatively warm air. Most importantly, good sun exposure creates a pleasant and dry climate. In fact, October has fewer rainy days than any other month of the year. The picturesque alpine fall landscape with various late flowering plants and the golden light of the low sun creates a unique setting for single trail and bike park action.

2. Massive action for every riding level at Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis

Of course, riding the trails and tracks at Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is a must-do when visiting the region in the fall. Its nine lines, ranging from easy to difficult, making every mountain biker’s heart beat faster – regardless of whether it’s during the first pedal strokes of the day on the “Milky Way”, slowly approaching the various jumps of the “Strada del Sole”, or going full send on the “Supernatural” or the downhill line. To top it off: history shows that there are fewer riders in the park in September and October. This means not only that you have to share your lines with fewer people but also that you spend less time waiting for gondolas, at the trailhead, or for key sections of trails. Bottom line: you get more rides per day. During fall, there are also fewer riders in the practice area at the foot of the bike park with landing bag, pumptrack, and more.

3. Single trails with a panoramic view

Anyone who knows Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis knows that the region not only appeals to classic bike park shredders but eight single trails at Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis will enchant those riders who also have an eye for landscape and nature.

The main attraction is definitely the adrenaline-charged trail riding of course – be it on the Zirbentrail, which meanders from Zirbenhütte over several north shores, double waves and mini tables through a pine forest to the Schöngampalm. Or on the youngest trail of the region, 5.8 kilometers-long Jochtrail, which combines natural sections with north shore elements and also features a tricky rock garden in front of a great mountain panorama. Not to mention the legendary Frommestrail, whose almost nine kilometers lead through alpine terrain, a forest passage and classic alpine meadows, offering not only demanding bike action, but also an unforgettable scenic experience that differs significantly from summer to fall.

4. Film, post, and win the #bestbikereel challenge

After the success of last year’s #bestbikereel challenge with over 120 entertaining and action-packed reels, the holiday region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis can’t wait to see the Instagram-gems that the mountain bike community will come up with this year. The challenge runs until the end of the summer season on 16 October 2022 – the main prize includes two overnight stays with breakfast included in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis as well as All Mountain Bike Tickets for two days for the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis bike region for two people for the 2023 summer season.

The Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis fall landscapes and the low sun could be just the key elements that set your edit apart from the rest of the submissions. Just don’t forget to include some nice bike riding, too.
