Gearing up for a freeride supersession of epic proportions, the Suzuki Nine Knights MTB is preparing to host a week of photo shoots and filming in the mountain bike mecca of Livigno, Italy. The unique event with a stacked riders list, also features a Big Air competition and introduces a new team battle element this year. The teaser shows a glimpse of what is to come on the gigantic castle and gnarly trails from the 16th to 21st of June 2014.
Livigno/Italy, May 23rd 2014 – Always pushing for innovation, the fourth edition of the legendary MTB event presents a team video challenge in addition to the photo contest and Big Air competition. Each of the four teams: Scandinavia, North America, Germany-Austria and Europe, consist of three riders, a photographer and a videographer. The best video edit and the finest photos from the week will be awarded at the gala night on Saturday, June 21st. Martin Söderström (SWE), Anton Thelander (SWE), Kurt Sorge (CAN), Geoff Gulevich (CAN), Andi Wittmann (GER), Peter Henke (GER), Antoine Bizet (FRA), Yannick Granieri (FRA) and Szymon Godziek (POL) are some of the epic riders of the Suzuki Nine Knights MTB 2014. Each year the setup on Mottolino Fun Mountain evolves, growing more challenging and impressive, and this year is no exception.
“Il Castello” sets off with a 7m drop into a 9m or a 12m kicker and rolls into an extended trail section full of creative and oversized features. Offering a fun course and creating the ideal conditions to progress the sport was key to the designers. “The VRide is a never before seen feature. It enables two athletes on a wallride at the same time. I’m really looking forward to seeing the photos!” says designer and event host Andi Wittmann. The ongoing ‘Wanna be a Knight” online video contest runs till May 30th, giving talented freeride mountain bikers the chance to win an invitation to the Suzuki Nine Knights MTB.
