Munich, 26 August 2014 – Nuremberg is getting ready! The course set up preparations for Red Bull District Ride on 6 September 2014 are now complete. The rider line-up is also confirmed. The start list includes the world’s best freeriders and slopestylers – from rising young talents like Louis Reboul (FRA) to bike legends such as the triple Red Bull Joyride winner Brandon Semenuk (CAN). They are all eager to throw down their sickest tricks at the last European stop of the FMB Diamond Series in front of the 55,000 spectators. The riders will also battle for crucial points in order to secure the FMB World Championship title. Can Anthony Messere (CAN), who is currently on the top of the ranking, hold his position or will he lose it against his most dangerous rival, Brandon Semenuk? “Spectacular obstacles in the middle of Nuremberg’s beautiful old town scenery – Red Bull District Ride is simply unique. The riders who have started at this event before, are looking forward to coming back and for the newbies it’s an honor to be there.” says sports director, Tarek Rasouli. One event, five districts, 24 riders – the new edition of Red Bull District Ride brings the “Who’s Who” of the freeride scene together. Athletes from eleven countries will travel to the Franconian metropolis to conquer the urban course. Among them are well-known European faces, such as Germany’s best slopestyle rider Peter Henke, as well as an entire armada from overseas. As much as seven Canadian and two American riders will be looking to show off their awesome bike skills in front of the live German audience. New comers like Nicholi Rogatkin and Tomas Lemoine will be there to challenge old-dawgs, like Darren Berrecloth and Cam Zink, who recently beat the world record with the biggest backflip on a bike of all times. With such a stacked rider line-up, the trick level will be off the chart!

The 24 riders will battle for their qualifying spots on Friday, 5 September. Shortly after, on the same afternoon, the Telekom Best Trick contest will go down, followed by a signing session with the Red Bull athletes. On Saturday, 6 September, Nuremberg will be heated up by an expected 55,000 excited fans during the finals. Who will make it through Aaron Chase’s challenging course and land on the podium? At 11:00am the athletes will ride in the second round of the qualifying from which only 12 will proceed into the finals. The highlight of the weekend in the majestic setting of the historical town will start at 03:00pm.

To ensure that everything is above board, six judges will score the performance of the riders throughout the five districts. In addition there will be a head judge who oversees the scoring of the six judges and makes sure, that consistency, fairness and impartiality are maintained throughout the contest. Due to the long track the six judges will be split into three teams.
