A brand-new format combines downhill, 4X and freeride for one incredible race down the mountain.

The best aspects of mountain bike racing will be combined this summer for a new event called Red Bull Wide Open. Some of the most skilled riders from different disciplines will challenge each other head-to-head in six-man heats on a supercross-style downhill course.

Barreling down over 1,600 feet of course, the riders will contend with 60-foot gaps, 20-foot berms, wallrides and technical rock waterfalls — along with the five other riders in their heat. The introduction of Mountain Bike
