Saalfelden Leogang in Salzburger Land, Austria, June 4th, 2014 – A bunny hop contest, a bike cinema, a pumptrack challenge and a mini bike race, a large team & expo-area as well as an after bike party – there is no need to ride for world ranking points or rainbow jerseys to get your share of excitement at the Out of Bounds Festival from June 12th – 15th, 2014 in Saalfelden Leogang.
Next week at Bikepark Leogang, action will take place on both sides of the tape. Spectators can watch with amazement as professional athletes rip up the 26TRIX dirt jump course, as well as the downhill and four-cross tracks. In between the live competitions, on the other side of the tape, there will be a wide variety of side events including a bunny hop contest, live film premiere, expo area and an awesome after bike party.
It pays to arrive early in Saalfelden Leogang next week. Starting at 9pm on Thursday, you could become the first champion at the Out Of Bounds Festival. Come along and test your skills against the likes of Martin Soderstrom or Sam Reynolds during the annual bunny hop contest. Afterwards, there will be a unique opportunity: Brandon Semenuk’s new film ‘Rad Company’ will be shown at 10pm. This film is an absolute must watch! On Friday evening from 9pm it’s time to race! Visitors can sign up for the pumptrack challenge and then race against the top dawgs in the mini bike race. Fun, excitement and especially laughter is all guaranteed!
Ever wondered how Steve Smith prepares for a race? Or which lucky fellow is in charge of massaging Rachel Atherton’s legs? Or maybe, what tricks the mechanics use to make Tomas Slavik’s bike faster? You can get all the answers by visiting the team & expo-area located at the bottom station of the gondola. No top-secret pit garages like in Formula One. You can see for yourself how the teams prepare for each race before hitting the track. You might even catch some team giveaways or get an autograph from your racing idol in between races.
After the contests it’s time to unwind and Saalfelden Leogang knows how to throw a party! Starting at 9pm on Saturday, while the downhill elite are tucked away in their beds, resting for the final race on Sunday, the British party master Sam Pilgrim and his colleagues will be getting the crowd pumping at the legendary Oe3 Party with DJs Darius & Finlay! On Sunday, the party continues from 6pm at the Outback Bar after the new downhill King and Queen take their place on the podium.
