iXS Dirt Masters Festival

On Thursday the action starts with the young guns taking to the stage. The Specialized Rookies Downhill Cup #1 will see the shredders of tomorrow fighting for glory in four different age groups across male and female categories.

Later on that day a new addition to the program takes shape: the ROSE Best of 10. Lukas Knopf and Erik Fedko will first show how it’s done, demonstrating a series of 10 tricks. After that it will be time for the participants to shine: Lukas and Erik will be judging who can bring their stoke and creativity to pull off the best tricks and get the final victory.

Just before the sun sets in Winterberg, it will be time for the always popular Mountainbike Rider Magazine Bunny Hop Battle in which pro and amateur riders alike will be showing the crowds just how high can they go.

On Friday, things start to heat up with the Bike-Mailorder 4X Rumble. A fan favorite and with entertainment guaranteed both on and off the track, four riders at a time will put their speed and skill to the test, first in qualifying at 2pm and then at 6pm for the big final race. This is only the beginning before the weekend starts and even bigger crowds start to flock to the bike park.

4X Race

Non-stop bike action: Whip-Offs, Slopestyle, Downhill, Pumptrack, Enduro, a huge Expo Area, an amazing Bikepark available for testing and more

The #1 iXS Downhill Cup is one of the Festivals headline fixtures and a classic that always draws the interest of dozens of riders from all over the world wanting to prove themselves on the demanding 1.5km / 0.9 miles track. Hailing from countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom and South Africa, among others it will be a truly global affair. With a range of different categories in play, the Elite Men will be capturing all the attention once qualifying takes place on Saturday ahead of the grand finale on Sunday where new winners will be crowned the new DH kings and queens of Winterberg.

Saturday has plenty more to offer though. Once the day starts to come to an end, the thousands of bike-crazed fans will once again start to line up for another festival classic: the widely anticipated Warsteiner Whip Offs contest powered by Spank.

Whip-Off contest

Always a crowd favorite, this year it´s set to raise the bar once again. It will field a stellar international line-up of athletes, including current Whip-Offs champion and Youtube superstar Fabio Wibmer. However, Josh Bryceland, Erik Fedko, Lukas Knopf, Max Fredriksson, Alex Alanko and other gravity aces will be sure to give Fabio a good challenge.

As if this group of riders wasn´t enough to get fans excited, the competition will also be giving the winner, for the first time, a wildcard for the Official European Whip-Off Championships presented by SPANK at Crankworx Innsbruck. The stakes could not be higher.

iXS Rookies Cup

With a huge legacy at the Festival and holding the distinct honor of closing out the events festivities late afternoon on Sunday will be the Continental Slopestyle contest.

The fans will certainly find it worth the wait when Winterberg-regular Sam Pilgrim is joined by an incredible line-up of slopestyle kings, including local hero Erik Fedko, Lukas Knopf, Viktor Douhan, Alex Alanko, Max Fredriksson, Dawid Godziek and many others. Dawid arrives in Winterberg fresh off having won the Swatch Rocket Air Slopestyle contest so fans can look forward to seeing his incredible twister performed live. All of them will intend on sending it and bringing the craziest, highest and most creative tricks and jumps to the Festival. While the pros compete on Sunday, on Saturday there will be an Amateur contest for everyone who believes they have what it takes to compete in Slopestyle.

Slopestyle contest

The Dirt Masters weekend would not be complete without the Kenda Enduro One race, which beyond the regular categories of riders will also include this year a special stage for E-MTB participants.

On top of all the different events and competitions, the event will also once again have an extensive exhibitors area where the public will be able to check out the latest novelties of their favorite brands. It’s not only about watching and browsing though: those who do want to test their bikes have the Bikepark and the Trailpark at their disposal.

When all is said and done and another Winterberg Festival comes to an end, the only thing certain is that fans and riders will look back and ask themselves one question only: when does the 2020 Dirtmasters Festival start?
