Ever since the iXS Dirt Masters Festival was first confronted with the fact that almost the entire cultural life would come to pause, they have never been concerned with the question of whether the festival should take place in 2020, but rather faced the challenge of finding the how and when. Since all the usual things have been taken off the hinges, the crew continues to work on a way to realize the festival and make it possible for all the people out there.
It was clear that the first hurdle had been overcome with the postponement, the people in charge planned together and tried out different variations – now the second step was taken and the four-day festival program is now compressed into three days. In 2020, the festival will experience a unique venture that is supported from all sides.
We are looking positively towards September and hope that the pandemic will not spread any further. The preparations for the new iXS Dirt Masters Festival in September are in full swing. We are also in constant communication with the local authorities to make the festival safe for everyone according to all guidelines. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything works out! This is the current schedule for the iXS Dirt Masters Festival 2020 so far:
The Mountain Bike Rider Magazine, the city of Winterberg and the Bikepark Winterberg are really trying hard, moving all kinds of levers. The goal is to encourage and connect people, to let the sport take place, include #socialdistancing according to the current and the perhaps still upcoming regulations. Of course, at the end it has to be mentioned that all planning and efforts could possibly come to nothing and that the highest authorities still put a damper on the plans, but: hope dies last!

The preparations are in full swing and the bike industry’s response is, despite everything, extremely positive. With the support of the Bikepark Winterberg everything possible will be done to ensure that riders of all disciplines can rage safely, innovatively and progressively. You can look forward to a compressed gravity festival in a class of its own this year, where old and young, rookies and pros, families and friends, everyone is welcome!
By the way, the date for 2021 is already set: May 13th-16th 2021, so make sure to note this date in your calendar, because then the iXS Dirt Masters Festival will open the mountain bike season in 2021.
