Huge Expo Area, Ride with the Pros and countless Side Events

The central piece of the 6th edition of the GlemmRide Bike Festival was once again the huge Expo Area where some of the biggest brands in cycling showcased their products and offered riders the chance to test their latest tech and bikes directly on Saalbach Hinterglemm’s extensive network of trails. Adding to the fun and all-time atmosphere in Hinterglemm’s town center were meet & greets, signing sessions and group rides with pro riders as well as a whole host of side events like arm wrestling or bike pulling contests that saw the competitors cheered on by a massive crowd.

Big Air Shows & Live Music

The fun didn’t stop when the lifts closed, either, as the Masters of Dirt Big Air Show delivered an absolutely insane level of trickery including a Twister-No-Hand-Barspin by David Godziek, Twister-Tail-Whip by Nicoli Rogatkin, a Frontflip-Double-Superman-Grab by Vincent ‘La Machine’ Massardier and a Double-Backflip by 14-year-old Freeride prodigy Lennox Zimmermann.

Following the spectacular big air shows, the hyped-up crowd went wild in front of the main stage during the performances of Austrian punk band Turbobier and rap collective Texta before turning night into day at the numerous after parties headlined by the likes of Mountain Reggae Radio, Wax Wreckaz and DJ Mosaken.

Downhill and Pumptrack Racing Action

Those needing a break from the fun on the region’s trails lined the tape at Saalbach Hinterglemm’s famous Pro Line to follow the tight and competitive racing at the Specialized Rockshox Rookies Cup presented by iXS as well as the pumptrack at the foot of the Reiterkogelbahn. The full results of the weekend’s DH racing can be found here.
