Mountain bike enthusiasts return to gather on the trails of Carosello 3000 for the fifth edition of the Great Days, scheduled from 21st to 23 rd of July 2023. The program includes lots of riding, the unmissable bike-game Tutti Frutti Challenge, the Top to Bottom King of 3000, bike tours and lots of parties and great opportunities for socializing. Our 43ride crew already attended at Great Days and we can tell You that event is awesome. We tottaly recomend to take part in it, and You can read our full report from previous years 2022 and 2021.
The event is based on a well-tested format. It starts in the late afternoon of Friday 21st of July with the Sunset Ride, a group riding with the last light of the day on a 12 km route that meets the trails Coast to Coast, Lonely Planet and Roller Coaster, one of most famous and well-built flow trails in Europe. At the end of the route, the raiders spend time together in a hut into the forest to celebrate the beginning of the weekend with a barbecue and live music.
Saturday, 22 of July is entirely dedicated to the Tutti Frutti Challenge, a fun bike-game on the route designed by the mtb-pioneer Hans Rey. This initiative is suitable for anyone familiar with mountain trails and combines a real riding experience with strategy, orientation and exploration within the mountain trails and the town of Livigno. Here teams of 2 or 3 riders have to find check-points, take photos of unlikely characters, solving enigmas and passing special prooves and… get points by publishing Instagram Stories. At the end of the day, waiting for the awards ceremony, music and socializing will be held at the Apres-Bike Alegra. The party continues afterwards with the Beastie Noise playing live at Marcos Pub.
Scheduled for Sunday, 23rd of July, the adrenaline filled initiative of the Great Days is the top to bottom King of 3000. A 1000 meters race where you can challenge your friends and win the title of “King of the Mountain”. The final descent is preceded by qualifying runs and prizes are available for both categories woman and man. The race is made possible thanks to the partnership with The King Mtb, an Italian riding community with the purpose of promoting the passion for mountain-biking.
Always on Sunday, the non-competitive souls can join a beautiful Bike Tour between pristine valleys, old farmer houses and amazing landscapes on the ancient trail of Livigno.
After a long morning of riding, all the participants will gather for the Party in the Wood at the Baitel del Plascianet, a tiny refuge surrounded by the forest. Here people can share their experiences and greet old and new friends while enjoying a polenta cooked in a cauldron (local dish) accompanied by an alpine BBQ and a few glasses of wine from Valtellina.
The event is organized by Carosello 3000 – Livigno in partnership with Livigno and Sitas, the association The King of Mountain-Bike and 360 Valtellina Bike, Macial Offroad and Met Helmets, a leading company in the design and production of bike helmets that has in Valtellina its headquarter.
