Key facts:

  • Dates: 10–14 September 2024
  • Location: Bike Republic Sölden, Austria
  • Public Day: 14th of September 2024, in conjunction with Bike Republic Sölden Festival BYND The Mountain

Since its founding in 2011, Swatch Nines MTB has served as a friendly antagonist to the world of competitive mountain biking by creating eye-catching experimental playgrounds for athletes to express themselves and push their limits in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere.

For this year’s event, in line with the motto “Let’s leave a legacy,” Swatch Nines invited a panel of riders including Erik Fedko (GER), Lukas Schäfer (GER), Peter Kaiser (AUT) and others to design two world-class freeride and slopestyle lines. Both lines will remain open to the public after the event, providing the mountain bike scene with a lot of fun for many years to come.

A stacked riders’ roster continues to grow

Over two dozen top athletes have already confirmed their attendance at Swatch Nines MTB 2024. They include bike legends such as Sam Pilgrim (GBR), Caroline Buchanan (AUS) and Nicholi Rogatkin (USA) as well as up-and-coming talents like Patricia Druwen (GER) and Tobey Miley (GER). More riders will be announced via Swatch Nines social channels in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

New MTB talents discovered via BYND pre-event and the Become A Nine contest at the BYND pre-event held at Green Hill Bikepark in June, Lennox Zimmermann (GER), Dorian Macher (AUT) and Sarah Schieder (AUT) each earned wildcard invitations to the main Swatch Nines MTB event. Additional wildcard invites will be issued via the Become A Nine video contest, which is now accepting entries until the 19th of August. More information about the Become A Nines contest can be found at thenines.cc/mtb-ba9.

I’m really looking forward to Swatch Nines. It’s always one of the best events, where all the riders are pushing each other, and you learn lots of new tricks.

Patricia Druwen (GER)

I’m so excited for the latest Swatch Nines event. The location has changed to Sölden, and it’s going to feel amazing to ride with that huge mountain backdrop! I also helped design some of the course, and it’s looking dreamy. I can already feel that it’s going be the best year yet.

Sam Pilgrim (UK)

It was an awesome event from the start, with all the people and such an unusual course. Sharing the win with Dorian and Sarah is an indescribably cool feeling. It gives me the chance to ride in one of the sickest events and helps me to continue living the dream of mountain biking.

Lennox Zimmermann (GER)

BYND and Swatch Nines celebrates biking in all its diversity. With our border-crossing festival concept we want to continue to build on this spirit of community. It’s an extraordinary format that unifies many different aspects, and something that we’re really looking forward to.
