In just one week, the action sports juggernaut known as Swatch Nines will rear its ugly head once more. With two unique event locations and a bevy of new athletes and disciplines, the 2025 Nines MTB opens up exciting new territory for this already boundary-breaking event.
Here’s all you need to know about Swatch Nines MTB 2025:
- What? Swatch Nines MTB 2025
- When? September 4–13, 2025
- Where? Green Hill Bikepark (DE) & Bike Republic Sölden (AT)
- Who? Invited roster of the world’s best female and male mountain bikers, BMXers & skateboarders
Big Air at Green Hill, Slopestyle & Freeride in Sölden
The action kicks off on September 4–6 at Green Hill Bikepark in Germany’s Sauerland region, where the focus is on Big Air progression. The riders asked for a space to step up their game, so Swatch Nines built it: With improved jump dimensions, soft landings, a Masters Of Dirt airbag, Berg trampolines and aerial coaches on hand, the sky’s the limit for this session.

The event continues on September 9–13 at Bike Republic Sölden in Austria. Staying true to the motto of “by riders, for riders”, the existing Nines slopestyle and freeride lines have been updated with heavy input from Sam Hodgson, Matt McDuff and Simon Moratz. Swatch Nines remains the only event on the planet to combine a world-class freeride course with state-ofthe-art slopestyle lines. The addition of a skatepark ups the ante even further, offering a space for BMX and skate athletes to take their place at the table.
Making all the changes to the course was something that I had thought about a lot, ever since the Nines last year. I had been racking my brain about how I was to get course to where it needed to be. Choosing what to focus on most. And making all the small adjustments that make all the difference. But very happy with the results. I hope the course can offer the best in riding for across the riders field. And provide maximum fun for all, regardless of style, bikes or gender.
Sam Hodgy Hodgson
Both the Slopestyle and Freeride lines just leveled up big time. With Sam Hodges and Matt Macduff on board, we had the perfect mix for Big Air and pure fun. They dropped their ideas straight into the build and turned the lines into creativity-packed playgrounds. The best part is that the guys tested the jumps right away and they just couldn’t stop riding. That’s the vibe we want.

Riders reveal: stacked rosters in all directions
The riders’ roster for Swatch Nines 2025 reveals the full spectrum of mountain bike talent from around the globe. A strong women’s field includes all-stars like Alma Wiggberg (SWE), Robin Goomes (NZL), Casey Brown (CAN) and Patricia Druwen (GER). Among the men, international heavy weights such as Emil Johansson (SWE), Tim Bringer (FRA), Dawid Godziek (POL) and Erik Fedko (GER) will bring the heat.

I’m really excited to head over to this year’s event! I missed last year due to injury so I’m really looking forward to some riding in the setup. The locations look insane, can’t wait!
Alma Wiggberg
It’s always interesting to put the world’s best athletes together and see how they push each other in a non-competitive setting. And this year is so special with the mix of MTB and BMX – can’t wait to see all that’s going to go down!

Public days: three chances to watch Swatch Nines in person
One public event at Green Hill and two in Sölden make this year’s Swatch Nines more accessible than ever. At Green Hill, the Nines Public Day takes place on Saturday, September 6 from 13:00–16:00, in conjunction with the BYND The Hill Festival. Find more information here.
In Sölden, two public sessions are offered as part of the Bike Republic Sölden Festival. A Public Night Shoot on Friday, September 12 from 19:00–21:00 will provide a dramatic spectacle for MTB fans, while a daytime session follows on Saturday, September 13 from 13:00–16:00. More info here.

Mountain bike festivals: Beyond The Hill and BRS Festival
At both locations, MTB fans can enjoy a festival experience while Swatch Nines is in town. At Green Hill, the three-day BYND The Hill Festival (September 5–7, 2025) overlaps with the Nines, offering participants a front-row seat to world-class MTB action as well as a full program of musical acts, gear tests and side events. Learn more about the festival here.
The BRS Festival (September 12–14) coincides with Swatch Nines in Sölden. Attendees can partake of two different Nines public events, as well as a varied hands-on side program thatincludes courses, bike challenges and even a world record attempt. Learn more about the festival here.

Even more sports: BMX and skateboard join the party
The BMX world asked for it and Swatch Nines responded: Some of the world’s top BMX talents—including Matthias Dandois (FRA), Garrett Reynolds (USA) and Courage Adams (NGA/ESP)—will be on hand to ride a one-of-a-kind skatepark integrated into the MTB setup in Sölden. The setup will also host a select crew of skateboard stars including Andy Anderson (CAN), Gustavo Ribeiro (PRT) and Madars Apse (LVA).
Last but not least, the word on the street is that some riders may be bringing more than just their slope and big bikes to the show. Will we see the debut of FMX and E-FMX at Swatch Nines this year? Stay tuned…

Become A Nine: meet this year’s wildcard winners
This year, multiple pathways were available for talented riders and photographers to become a part of the Nines family. First, three up-and-coming MTB athletes—David Zimmermann, Marlon Katzke and Justus Imhorst—qualified for wildcards at a pre-event at Green Hill Bikepark in July.
In the online Become A Nines contest, Johanna Nussbaumer (DE) and Harry Gascoyne (UK) stood out among a wide field of video submissions from around the world. Congratulations: You’re coming to the Nines!
Finally, The Become a Nine photography contest was a rousing success, with over 100 entries received. Pyrene Duffau will lend her unique perspective to this year’s Swatch Nines with a ticket to capture the action in Sölden.
I’m super stoked to join the Nines family! This event aligns with the direction I want my riding to go, so I feel grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of it!
