Crankworx Whistler 2025: Outdoor Research Ultimate Pump Track Challenge presented by RockShox

After a festival packed with highlights and challenges – from Alma Wiggberg and Emil Johansson’s Swedish sweep of Red Bull Joyride gold earlier today, to the cancellation of the RockShox Canadian Open DH Group A Finals due to helicopter safety concerns in low clouds – Whistler’s brand-new Crystal Viper Pump Track set the stage for one last night of racing. Designed by Adam Billinghurst and the Earth Odyssey crew, the course challenged riders with rhythm, speed, and a unique gap jump that forced precision and power at every turn.

Bensink Back on Top

Local trail builder and member of the Crystal Viper crew, Niels Bensink, delivered a storybook ending to the festival, securing his first Crankworx Elite gold since 2022. Facing off against Whip-Off regular Eddie Reynolds in the gold-medal matchup, Bensink put down flawless laps to edge Reynolds by just 0.820 seconds.

Reynolds, who qualified a distant 18th, battled his way through the bracket in spectacular fashion to earn silver – proving he’s a force beyond his signature whips. In the small final, Whistler local Tegan Cruz claimed bronze after defeating Merrick Otto.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Ryan Gilchrist, eliminated by Reynolds in the Round of 16, still celebrated as he was officially crowned the 2025 Crankworx Pump Track Champion, thanks to his consistency across the season. Bensink’s victory in Whistler boosted him into second overall.

Košárková Claims Gold and the Overall

On the women’s side, rising star Sabina Košárková continued her breakout season, collecting her third Crankworx Pump Track medal of 2025 and her most significant to date: Whistler gold. In a nail-biting matchup, Košárková edged newly crowned Queen of Crankworx Jordy Scott by just 0.140 seconds, a victory that not only secured the day’s top step but also crowned her the 2025 Crankworx Pump Track Champion.

The small final saw former Queen of Crankworx Caroline Buchanan defeat Kialani Hines, adding another podium to her already stacked Crankworx résumé – all the more impressive after a heavy crash earlier in the week at Dual Slalom practice.
