The longest, largest and most ambitious Swatch Nines MTB yet—complete with a star-studded roster of top talent from around the world—came to a close this weekend, and it left the boundaries of the sport in tatters. Stunning new trick combos landed by the likes of Erik Fedko (GER), Diego Solans Beraud (ESP), Chance Moore (CAN), Dawid Godziek (POL) and Kurtis Downs (USA) rewrote the rules of freestyle mountain biking in a monumental session that will be remembered for years to come.

Swatch Nines MTB 2025
Over a ten-day period from September 4–13, 2025, the invited riders set new standards for trick technicality and creativity. Beginning with a Big Air session at Green Hill Bikepark in Germany, the action continued at Bike Republic Sölden in the Austrian Alps, where an even larger setup—complete with intertwining full freeride and slopestyle lines as well as a skatepark—awaited the crew.

The Green Hill session: three days of groundbreaking trickery
The Big Air setup at Germany’s Green Hill Bikepark was designed to help riders push their air tricks to new heights. With half a dozen brand-new trick combinations landed in the first hour of riding alone, it fulfilled its purpose and then some.
On September 4, Germany’s Erik Fedko landed a Double Backflip Nohander to Barspin, while Chance Moore of Canada delivered a Backflip Whip 360—both world’s first achievements. American Kurtis Downs arrived with a literal trick list in hand and quickly set about crossing off items. Among an incredible 15 never-before-seen tricks on a mountain bike, Downs’ highlight of the week was a Backflip SuperIndy Air to Heelclicker to Superman—a bewildering combination of three different in-air maneuvers, all performed while upside down.

After two days in which the mountain bike trick book was thoroughly rewritten, the session at Green Hill ended with a public viewing day on Saturday, September 6, as over a thousand enthusiastic MTB fans packed the slope alongside the setup to watch the action in person.
It was absolutely mind-blowing. The energy was insane. Everyone had certain goals, and we just fed off of one another. Every single time you looked down the course, there was someone landing something that they’ve never landed before.

The Sölden session: skate & BMX join the party
Immediately following the Green Hill event—with just one day of downtime—the session continued 600 kilometers to the south in Austria, where an expansive setup with full freeride and slopestyle lines awaited at Bike Republic Sölden. Here, a new contingent of action-sports talent joined the action, with a select squad of internationally renowned skateboarders and BMX riders to explore the possibilities of an onsite skatepark built directly at the bottom of the mountain bike lines.

Over six days in Sölden, the bar continued to rise as riders incorporated their tricks into full lines and added even more never-been-done tricks to the already long list. Dawid Godziek of Poland landed a Cashroll Windshield Wiper, while Sweden’s Alma Wiggberg landed a Backflip Barspin to One Foot Can. And in perhaps the week’s most jaw-dropping moment, Chance Moore sent a Backflip Tailwhip over the biggest jump on the course, the 60-footer in the freeride line—an outrageous achievement that had even the world’s best mountain bikers shaking their heads in disbelief.

The week concluded with two separate public shows, including a public night shoot on Friday, September 12 that lit up the slopes of Sölden with a dizzying light show.
