The BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN reports a record-breaking year in 2021! With a 12% increase in ticket sales between June and October 2021 compared to 2020, the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN celebrates its most successful summer to date – and demonstrates the growing popularity of mountain biking with guests and locals alike. In the flow nation, the riders can spread out wide in the midst of the jaw-dropping alpine scenery with a network of 11 perfectly shaped and maintained LINES and 17 natural trails as well as 2 pump tracks.
The BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN started in 2015 with the objective to create a home for mountain bikers of all skill levels. Seven years on, it has grown to become one of the leading bike destinations worldwide. This shows in the continuous increase of ticket sales, with another record-breaking season in 2021: a total of 232.300 lift rides amounted to a plus of 12% – with mountain biking making up 30%.
We had an incredible season. We were so busy despite the decrease in global travel and events, despite the rather difficult weather conditions and all the insecurities. The demand was high even in autumn. On the final weekend (01–03 October), the date of the REPUBLIC’s legendary national holiday, Sölden counted more than 6.250 lift rides! I think exemplary for this summer was our first bike parade which we held on our final Saturday. More than 200 mountain bikers were rolling through Sölden – riders of all ages on all sorts of bicycles, guests as well as locals. It was an amazing vibe and reflects just what the BIKE REPUBLIC stands for: We are ONE FOR ALL.
