Mountain biking in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis during autumn is always something special. The temperatures aren’t as scorching as in the height of summer, but they’re still pleasantly mild, and the picturesque landscape of the sun terrace shines in the warm autumn light. In short: the perfect time for some bike riding. With around two months until the season wraps up on 20 October, riders of all ages and skill levels have plenty of time to go full throttle on the lines at Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and soak in the breathtaking mountain views on the surrounding single trails. If you’re here not just for the riding but also for a good time off the bike, then you can’t miss the Bike festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis from 6-8 September.

The three villages of Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis sit at an altitude between 1,200 and 1,400 metres above sea level. With a whopping eight single trails, with the highest starting at an impressive 2,600 metres, plus nine bikepark lines, this region is a must-visit on the Alps’ biking map, especially in the latter half of the season. With the new Bifitrail and Leithetrail opened this year, the total length of all trails and lines now stretches to an awesome 57 kilometres. While the bulk of that is thanks to the revamped Zirbentrail (9.1 km) and the legendary Frommestrail (8.7 km), the new Bifitrail follows closely behind with its 6.9 km of pure flow. Winding from the trailhead all the way down to Fiss, 390 metres below, it’s perfect for beginners with its mix of small rollers, easy turns, and loads of flow through alpine meadows and woods. More advanced riders will find plenty to enjoy on this green trail too, with a variety of little obstacles to keep things spicy. The shorter Leithetrail (4.3 km) connects the bikepark with the Serfaus single trails and brings a mix of small rollers, doubles, and easy berms, before giving way to steeper turns and north shore elements further down.

At Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, it’s all about downhill action. The nine lines range from green to black, reflecting the family-friendly vibe of the whole bike region. So, whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned rider, there’s something for everyone. There’s even more practice space at the foot of the Waldbahn between Serfaus and Fiss, with a dedicated Kids park, training area, pumptrack, slopestyle, and two landing airbag.

Right where all the bike park lines converge at the Waldbahn valley station is where the highlight of the autumn, the Bike festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, will be held from 6-8 September. A whole weekend of riding, testing, and partying is on the cards. After last year’s massive “10 Years of Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis” party, it was clear to bike park manager Christian Zangerl and his team that they had to bring it back this year. On the festival grounds, different bike brands will have their latest mountain bikes ready for testing and loads of gear brands will be showing off their equipment, too. On Saturday, at the two Cash-for-Tricks sessions, talented riders can boost their travel funds, while the dirt is sure to fly at the Braap Off session in a purpose-built berm. The weekend kicks off with a Friday night screening of the new Red Bull mountain bike film “Anytime.” The film screening, like the rest of the festival, is free to attend.

If you fancy sharpening your skills alongside the festival fun, there are also Men’s and Women’s Camps running from 6-8 September. In a relaxed and supportive setting, you can work on your basic techniques, line choice, and airtime before hitting the festival to unwind after a day in the saddle.
