KOBLENZ, 9 September 2014 — It was THE urban slopestyle event of the year: last weekend 84,000 spectators gathered in Nuremberg’s historic city centre to witness Red Bull District Ride. For the Canyon Factory Freeride Team this was the chance to show the masses what their sport is all about and why it is so awesome! All three athletes turned out for the contest with great anticipation.

Thomas Genon

In the end, Thomas Genon placed third with his technical clean run (360 drop, superman seatgrab air, tuck no hand to barspin, flatspin 270, double tailwhip, 270, opposit truckdriver, barspin to 360, 360 flatspin invert). Anton Thelander was still having issues with his shoulder, so he decided not to compete and avoid the risk of further injury. Being benched didn’t stop him from doing a great job cheering for his team mates from the side lines.

Peter Henke

Peter Henke came to Nuremberg gunning for a solid result. He gave his very best but had to settle with 18th place. This behind the scenes clip with Pete shows the life of a professional rider at such a massive contest:
