Erik Fedko & Rose Bikes The Bruce

Looking back on a very successful 2018 season, Erik Fedko seeks for more progression in 2019. Thanks to his super smooth riding style and deep bag of banger tricks, the young German Slopestyle star has skyrocketed over the past 18 months. After reaching his first ever podium at Crankworx Les Gets and repeating at Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler last year, which secured him a Top 3 finish in the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship, he finds himself amongst the Slopestyle elite and in contention for the big prize: the 2019 SWC Title. He will be hitting the circuit with a number of new sponsors this year and aims to raise his riding level yet again.

Witnessing Erik’s rapid development as a rider, it isn’t really surprising that brands such as helmet manufacturer TSG and wheel developers Alexrims recognized his potential at an early stage of his career. Few riders have had such an exponential growth of skill and showed so much progression in the past years. Back in 2016 Fedko was still an athlete competing in the Amateur Ranking on the FMB World Tour, a mere 3 years later he belongs to the best three athletes in the world. Still, the now 21-year-old was competing without a bike sponsor in 2018. That will change this year! Erik Fedko heads into the new season with not only Continental and SRAM/RockShox by his side, but will also be riding for ROSE Bikes and rocking “The Bruce” Dirt Jump frame. Erik presents his new set-up to us on his YouTube channel (subtitled).

I am really looking forward to the new season. After having been side-lined with a wrist injury and lots of physio during the winter, I am finally back to full strength and have never felt better on the bike. My goal is to belong to the world’s best riders again this year and to have lots of fun while competing at the highest level there is!

Erik’s weapon of choice is the light-weight, aluminum “RRARI Red” ROSE The Bruce, which gives him the perfect base to perform his jaw-dropping tricks, no matter where he is. Up front, Erik opts for a RockShox Pike DJ and a full SRAM cockpit. Here, he’s got a full Truvativ Descendant set-up – a Descendant DH 35 handlebar and a Descendant 35mm stem. To make sure he’s got the absolute most control over his bike, Erik rocks extra-soft ODI Longneck grips. His brake set-up consists of the SRAM Avid X0 brake lever, which pairs perfectly with his Trickstuff Trixer hydraulic gyro and the “super light, super strong” two-piston SRAM Level caliper, giving him the perfect dose of power for when he needs to hit the brakes.

To save some weight, Erik uses Truvativ Descendant Carbon cranks – shaving 400 grams off of the complete setup – which is something you definitely feel when you’re tricking the SWC jumps. A SRAM X1 X-Sync chainring paired with a SRAM XX1 Eagle Chain take care of the power transfer from pedal to hub – a Profile Racing Z Hub in the rear and a 15mm SRAM X0 hub up front. The bike is finished off with a set of Alexrims Volar wheels – the lighter 2.7 in the front and a more stable, wider 3.0 in the back, which are wrapped in a set of Continental Race King Racesport 2.2 tires.
