TAIPEI CYCLE SHOW, TAIWAN – March 2, 2016 – WTB has expanded the versatility of their Riddler tread pattern by offering a 700c version in both 37mm and 45mm casing options. The Riddler 700c 37/45 tire features a fast rolling tread pattern consisting of a supportive, tightly spaced centerline to minimize rolling resistance while tall outer knobs provide traction while cornering. The combined speed and traction of the Riddler tread pattern makes the Riddler 700c 37/45 a capable tire across numerous riding disciplines, including cyclocross, gravel and dirt touring.

Evan Smith, WTB’s tire engineer:

We’ve taken a tried-and-true tread pattern from other riding disciplines and used it to expand what gravel is capable of. The only issue with this versatile of a tread pattern is we want to run it on all our bikes. With this in mind, the Riddler 37c was designed with our cross bike leaned up against the desk, while the Riddler 45c was dreamed up while exploring gravel roads. The WTB Riddler tread pattern has been incredibly successful for us, so it was only natural to share it with the drop bar world.

WTB is proud to be sponsoring the Trans Iowa race on April 23-24, 2016, where a pair of Riddler 37 and 45 will be awarded to the first male and female finishers. Replenishing the stoke of those who complete the lengthy 300-plus mile race, all finishers will receive a set of WTB Nano 40s.

The WTB Riddler 700c 37/45 TCS Light: Fast Rolling tires features a Dual Compound DNA Rubber, Lightweight Casing and TCS Aramid bead with an MSRP of $54.95. Preproduction samples of the Riddler 45 have been weighed at 560 grams each. The Riddler 700c TCS Light: Fast Rolling tire will be available through WTB in June 2016.
