The 2019 Bike collection by Dainese enters the world of urban commuting with AWA Black, a dedicated line evolved from the AWA “All Weather Activity” technological platform, launched by the Vicenza-based brand in 2017. The gravity world meanwhile benefits from the new Dainese Enduro Knee Guard, a latest-generation hybrid knee guard. The HG collection also gets an update, with a series ofnew colors.
AWA Black is the new Dainese Bike line designed to tackle the daily challenge of traffic whatever the weather conditions. It retains high technological content and combines it with a sober look, suitable for all types of use, not only bicycle-related.
The AWA Black layering system makes use of innovative materials deriving from the racing world, which ensure very high-level performance in terms of waterproofing, insulation against atmospheric agents and comfort.
Each piece is enriched with high-visibility details: reflective inserts for the brand-new Poncho and 3L Jacket, and brightly colored details for the other pieces in the collection. Safety and practicality are guaranteed by the numerous pockets, ideal for holding all the key accessories that today’s commuter cannot do without.
Renato Montagner, Art Director:
We have designed a collection of garments that, though designed to offer maximum comfort while riding, have an essential formal language. The performance of the garment is ensured through the cut and materials, without becoming too evident. A collection with a functional design, where functionality is translated into aesthetics, designed for those who use the bicycle for low environmental impact mobility.
For the Gravity world, Dainese launches the new Enduro Knee Guard, developed together with the world’s best athletes. The Enduro Knee Guard can be defined as the most protective knee guard of all time, in that it blends two technologies in a complex hybrid construction.
Pro-Armor technology combined with Crash Absorb bolsters ensure both protection and maximum ventilation as well as mobility, guaranteed by the fractal structure inspired by the natural world. The two ABS plates completely cover the kneecap and tibia, also ensuring slide along the ground in case of a crash. Maximum rideability and coverage, specifically conceived to protect the rider during the most aggressive of sessions.
The HG “High Gravity” collection widens its range with some new color variants, while AWA expands with many new graphics to reinforce its image.
Dainese Group – Mission Safety
Founded in 1972 by Lino Dainese, the Dainese group develops cutting-edge protective clothing for use when practicing dynamic sports: motorcycling, winter sports, cycling, horse riding and sailing. Continuing with its mission to protect athletes from head to toe, in 2007 Dainese acquired the iconic AGV brand, founded in 1947 and famous across the world for its innovative sports helmets. In 2017, the mother company’s style legacy led to the establishment of Dainese Settantadue, a new brand that gives garments from the past a modern twist. Dainese and AGV products represent the technological frontier in terms of protection in dynamic sports, and are used by the world’s best athletes, from Valentino Rossi to Sofia Goggia, Olympic skiing champion and winner of the World Cup Downhill title.
