Giro Sport Design, the cycling world’s design leader, today announced the all-new, ManifestTM Spherical helmet featuring the proprietary ball-and-socket design of Spherical Technology to help redirect impact forces, combined with the MIPS® Brain Protection System and an EPS liner with progressive layering to better manage high- and low-speed impacts. It also offers best-in-class ventilation that rivals Giro’s best road helmets, with plush padding for comfort. The Giro Manifest Spherical is available immediately from authorized Giro retailers and giro.com for $260 US MSRP / €270
Giro has a long legacy of innovation off road. The first ever fit system, the Roc Loc, was invented by Giro in 1994 and in 2002 the Xen helmet was the first model to acknowledge that trail riders have different needs than XC racers or freeriders. There are countless Giro innovations that other brands struggle to imitate, but Manifest truly shines as a halo product. It’s a testament to the value of our Dome R&D facility, where we test and develop new models in Scotts Valley, California.
– Dain Zaffke, Giro Marketing Director
At the heart of the Manifest’s extraordinary features is Spherical Technology, which utilizes a balland- socket design powered by MIPS® to redirect impact forces. Developed in the Dome, Giro+Bell’s world-class test lab, and in partnership with MIPS®, Spherical Technology allows the outer liner to rotate around the inner liner during a crash and eliminates skin contact with a hard-plastic slip-plane. Spherical Technology also enables Progressive Layering, with dual-density foam liners designed to address high- and low-speed impacts for more comprehensive energy management.
XT2 padding. Integrated eyewear gripper. Reflective decals & goggle gripper.
The AURA reinforcing arch bolsters structural integrity while allowing air to flow freely into a series of massive Wind TunnelTM vents and internal channeling, as comfort and sweat absorption are enhanced by quick-drying antimicrobial XT2 padding. The cooling power is obvious and has been quantified by test results using the Dome’s Therminator heat-sensing test fixture: ManifestTM runs significantly cooler than other trail helmets and even rivals Giro’s class-leading AetherTM road helmet. Fit and positioning adjustments are achieved with a redesigned Roc Loc Trail Air fit system that offers dynamic strength and UV-resistance while further improving ventilation and comfort.
