The TUES platform is steeped in prestige and has carved its name into the history books since its inception 14 years ago. Synonymous with the top step of the podium across freeride and downhill, its bloodline is undeniably strong, and with the TUES MK4, YT Industries enters a new era of versatility, adjustment, and race performance.
Frame & Features
Good things come to those who wait, and with the new frame, there’s a lot of ground to cover. The new TUES slots into the existing YT five-size sizing structure, with each size being compatible with either a 29″ or MX wheel setup. Reach measurements move in 20mm increments from size S (430mm) through to XXL (510mm), while the 200mm of rear travel is controlled by the podium-proven V4L suspension linkage, aiding with generating speed while having the progression needed for heavy hits.
To enhance its versatility, the TUES MK4 has a trick up its sleeve – the FLIP LINK. Riders can seamlessly switch between a 29″ and 27.5″ rear wheel by flipping the link without requiring additional frame parts. The headtube angle is configurable between 63.2°/63.5° depending on the position of the lower shock mount Flip Chip, which also grants 5mm of BB height adjustment. The chainstay lengths are size-specific to maintain balance and feature an adjustable long/short setting for maximum versatility. Size S-L frames offer 438/443mm chainstays in the MX position and 440/445mm in 29″, while XL-XXL models stand at 448/453mm and 450/455mm, respectively.
All this is neatly packaged within a 148x12mm rear end, complete with a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger for worldwide access to spares. Learning from its time on the race circuit, YT equipped the new TUES with a replaceable shock hardware insert, stopping stripped threads from ending your season early. The bottom bracket shifts from press fit to a threaded interface, and thanks to the EC49/ ZS56 head tube standard, the frame is compatible with a range of reach adjust headsets.
Models
At the top of the food chain lies the CORE 4: a race-ready rig inspired by the YT MOB’s component choices. Beneath the Shell White colorway lies a premium Ultra-Modulus carbon fiber frame, while the FOX Factory 40 fork and DHX2 coil shock (with size-specific spring rates) deliver comprehensive, pro- level tuning options. At the controls, the TRP DH-R EVO brakes feature 2.3mm thick 220mm rotors front and rear for maximum control, while SRAM’s X01 DH groupset ensures crisp power transfer and lasting durability. Industry Nine 1/1 hubs supply rapid engagement and are laced to Crankbrothers Synthesis DH Alloy Rims, complimented by Maxxis Assegai DH tires in a Maxx Grip compound to stay glued to impossible lines. The spec is complete by a Renthal cockpit, ODI grips, and SDG I-FLY 2.0 saddle alongside an e*thirteen LG1 Plus chain guide for maximum security.
Entering at a lower price point, the CORE 2 features a Fog Green colorway and retains the same Ultra-Modulus carbon construction found on the CORE 4. The latest RockShox Boxxer Base fork and Super Deluxe Select coil shock enable rapid setup, with the latter retaining the premium hydraulic bottom-out adjustment feature. SRAM’s GX DH groupset handles drivetrain duties and pairs with the ultra-low maintenance DB8 brakes and oversized 220mm rotors. A Race Face Chester bar & stem combo, ODI grips, and SDG I-FLY 2.0 saddle cover the touchpoints, and SunRingle Duroc SD37 wheels with Maxx Grip DH Assegai tires complete the spec.
