Mountain bike rookies can start looking forward to this year’s edition of the MTB-Festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, which takes place from 29 July to 4 August. The sixth edition is packed to the brim with adrenaline-pumping racing, coaching sessions and much more. For a week, the next generation of pros can polish their skills at the Kona Rookie Camp in order to prepare for the races taking place on the weekend. Up to 300 young rippers are expected to race the Specialized Rookies Cup on Saturday and to choose the fastest lines during the iXS International Rookies Championships on Sunday. An addition to the festival programme is the Five Ten Kids Cup, which will make even the youngest of riders like they’re at the top of the downhill world! 3,2,1… The downhill craziness in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is about to kick off! Riders looking to feel the adrenaline rush of flying down tracks and racing just like their idols such as Aaron Gwin, Greg Minnaar or Rachel Atherton, will feel right at home during the MTB-Festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. For a whole week, families and racers are guaranteed lots of fun and furious racing.

In order to be fully prepared for the Specialized Rookies Cup and the iXS International Rookies Championships, the Kona Rookie Camp will once again take place during the MTB-Festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The next generation of downhill elite racers will learn from the best coaches, who will not only share valuable riding tips, but also provide hands-on racing experience. In addition, camp participants will be able to share experiences, meet old riding buddies and make new friends, all while shredding in and outside of the bike park.
It’s not just about racing at the camp though, it’s also about everything that surrounds preparing to put down your best time on challenging tracks – mental preparation, bike maintenance and service, the proper warm-up routine and techniques – it’s all there. Young and old can look forward to plenty of side-events and happenings – like a BBQ, Yoga classes, the Family Challenge, a Pumptrack Fun Session, good music and much more.
New this year is the Five Ten Kids Cup, especially for the youngest generation of racers. All bike-stoked kids between the ages of five and ten will no longer just have to cheer on their siblings from the side of the track. Instead, they’ll be able to make their first steps in mountain biking during specially designed challenges. Shared experiences are at the forefront of the festival. An international roster of riders from all over the world, with all different levels of riding guarantees excitement and fun. Last year, the races saw more than 270 participants from 24 countries.

One of them is 15-year-old Canadian Jackson Goldstone, who is no stranger to the podiums at the MTB-Festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The young shredder will once again make his way to Austria to fly down the downhill track in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and hype up the gathered crowds. Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is the place to be for a family holiday. Regardless whether it is summer or winter there is always something going on. In summer the cable cars and bus shuttles connect the mountainous region of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. Visitors can reach all singletrails by using the Schönjochbahn. The Waldbahn takes riders and their bikes to the trails within the bike park, which have different levels of difficulty from blue (easy) and red (medium) to black (expert). There is also a kids park, slopestyle area with a landing bag, pump track, dirt line and training area at the bottom station, where beginners can try out and get used to their new equipment. Experts in the bike shop advise in bike and safety equipment matters and the bike school and rental office can also be found here. Beside the shop there is also a chill out area and a snack bar.
