Kope Bike Park is located in northern part of Slovenia. It isn’t a completely new addition to the European bike park map. Few years back it already had three enjoyable trails and a properly big (for 2018) jumpline. But in 2025, Kope underwent a complete transformation. One of Slovenia’s best trail-shaping crews, th Batt Crew, took over the whole park. New lines, new lifts, new skill park, and a pump track are just some of the changes. I had the opportunity to visit and ride the new version of Kope Bike Park during the Flat Out Days 2025 festival. Below You can find our trail report.

Kope Bike Park – Where?
Kope Bike Park is located in northern Slovenia. Close to the Austrian border. Closest biger city is Slovenj Gradec. The Kope resort is nestled in the middle of the forest and high on the slopes of the Pohorje mountain range. The same mountains as the well-known and popular bike park in Maribor. In a straight line, both locations are not far from each other, but getting from one to the other by car will take well over an hour. Nevertheless, you can easily combine these two locations during a multi-day trip into this region. Also nearby there are the Single Trail Park Jamnica and Petzen Bike Park. Both of those locations should be familiar to enduro fans, as they have hosted two editions of the Enduro World Cup. In short, the entire region already offers plenty of good riding, and the Kope Bike Park adds another 16 (!) great trails to that list.

Bike park Kope – Novelties
Previously, the Kope bike park offered only 3 trails. Current plans are for 16 trails in total. This development was made possible by the addition of other lifts to the summer offer. Bikers now have access to three chairlifts and another two short tow lifts. This provides a vast and diverse riding area. The entire park has been divided into zones, which are spanning along those lifts. Each zone have a slightly different character. Closest to the parking lot and ticket offices are mainly easy zones and trails, intended for learning. Further into the mountains, there are the steeper slopes. The entire project was designed to offer something for every biker, from beginners to experts and pro riders. There are fast flow lines, decent jumplines, and also fun natural trails in enduro and DH style. Overall, this is one of the largest bike park projects I’ve heard of recently. Not everything was ready for my visit at Flat Out Days 2025 Festival, but I still had 12 new trails to ride! New trails and sections are constantly being added to the map of Kope Bike Park.

Bike Park Kope – Trails- Pungart Zone
This is also where the previous versions of the Kope Bike Park trails were located. The Pungart Zone is served by a chairlift and currently features five trails. The gentle slope of the terrain is perfect for flow trails and jump lines. It’s also here that you can admire some of the largest jumps in Europe, prepared for the FEST Series event. This line is normally closed, but the following trails are open to the public:

Kope Bike Park – Green Fairy
The Green Trail is an easy 1-kilometer trail. This fun line runs through sparse forest on a very gentle slope. It offers a mix of easy, natural terrain with built up berms. This winding trail is interesting because it can be easily ridden by almost anyone, but if you want to go faster, it can also be pretty demanding. This one is a very fun trail and great for warm up.
Kope Bike Park – Blue Fairy
A sister course to the Green Fairy, it runs directly alongside it. But this one, is marked as blue, so little bit harder one. It’s even more twisty than the green version, requiring a bit more effort to rode ot smoothly. It also features a little bit more roots and bumps. Also very fun line.
Kope Bike Park – Pungart Flow
A typical flow line that begins where the Green and Blue Fairy trails ends. Several berms and rollers which lead us straight to the lower station of the Pungart chairlift.

Kope Bike Park – Wild Rooster
A fast flow line designed for advanced riders. It’s a mix of natural terrain and roots with smooth, high speed, smoothed sections. Trail offers several larger table jumps and rollers to get into the air. During the festival, part of the trail was closed due to jump preparations for the FEST Series. But the trail is ready to shred.
Kope Bike Park – Hammer Line
A black line only for experts who aren’t afraid of serious jumps. One of the big features on the way is famous “Toilet Bowl”. Additionally, the final jump is really a big one and offers plenty of airtime. Of all the lines available during Flat Out Dys, this one has garnered the most recognition and was probably the most popular choice for top riders. I haven’t tried it myself. Below is a video from a more advanced rider. Despite its size, the Hammer Line remains a permanently open line at Kope Bike Park. The largest Fest Line will only be opened for special occasions.

Bike Park Kope – Trails – Velika Kopa Zone
The next zone in the Kope bike park is Velika Kopa. These trails descend to the opposite side of the mountain than those in the Pungart zone. A short tow lift is equipped with the Easy Loop system, which is really easy and safe to use. Three trails are planned over here two of them were already opened in July. These are actually short connecting trails to further placed zones, but even though they’re short, they still are a lot of fun! It’s great that even these short sections, are built up to cool trails, so you don’t have to ride by regular gravel road, but have some fun on the way.

Kope Bike Park – Meditation Station
An easy flow trail which is marked as green. The trail consists of rollers and smooth berms. However, if you decide to release the brakes and pump up the speed, you’ll quickly gain high speed and can jump thru some of them. Short, but very fun.
Kope Bike Park – Root Chakra
This trail is designed for advanced riders. It’s a tight line which is winding in natural terrain. The built up berms are mixed with sections of roots and natural holes.
Kope Bike Park – High Frequency
This advanced flow trail is located along the Meditation Station trail. It was still under construction when I visited Kope bike park. But I saw over there some larger table jumps and transfers. I imagine it will be a short but fun jump line.

Bike Park Kope – Trails – Pahernik Zone
Next zone is the Pahernik. Trails over here are served by a chairlift. Pahernik Zone offers both smooth flow trails and also natural style enduro and downhill variants. This area has a steeper slope, most often traversed, but also has a few steeper sections on the trails. This is where I spent the most of my time, when I visited Kope Bike Park.

Kope Bike Park – Horseshoe
Horseshoe is a machine-built, green flow trail. Gentle rollers and high, perfectly shaped berms allow to go with really high speeds. When going fast it allows combine some of the features into jumps. Additionally, in few places there are alternative takeoffs on the sides. Horseshoe trail is suitable for the beginners and also advanced riders can have some great fun on it. Its construction style reminds me a bit, the green Lower Vink Line in Chatel.

Kope Bike Park – Holy Grail
The Holy Grail trail is another machine-built flow trail. Although most of the obstacles are table jumps, it’s designated as an advanced course. Some of the obstacles are quite large, and to jump smoothly through them, you need to maintain a high speed. Unfortunately, the course felt fresh and a bit too soft to fully enjoy all the jumps. However, once the entire line is dry and hardpacked, those who enjoy flying on bikes will have a great time over here.

Kope Bike Park – Twisted Mind
This natural trail is designed for advanced riders. It’s a very fun, twisty single trail that offers plenty of fun on roots and traverses. Over time, the trail will become more challenging and presents even more obstacles. For na natural style trail it has really good flow, thanks to prepared small berms.
Kope Bike Park – Black Knight
A natural-style black enduro/dh trail. This descent is similar to the Twisted Mind variant, but Black Knight allows You to achieve bigger speeds at times, increasing the difficulty level.
Bike Park Kope – Trils – Kopnik Zone
The furthest zone in the Kope bike park. This is where the terrain offers the steepest gradients. Kopnik zone trails are served by a chairlift and offers natural style lines designed for advanced bikers.

Kope Bike Park – Spicy Frog
A black, natural style trail. Spicy Frog is an interesting single trail that winds through sparse forest. The descent features numerous sections of roots, and traverses. At the intersection with the Horseshoe Trail, there’s a bridge from which you can ride down or use it as a drop.

Kope Bike Park – New Natural
The red natural trail. It wasn’t open yet when I visited Kope Bike park, but its outline was visible. The trail will be more twisty and a bit slower than the Spicy Frog variant, making it a bit easier.
Kope Bike Park – Trails – Sedlo Zone
Right next to the parking lot, ticket office, and restaurant is the Sedlo area. It’s served by a short tow lift equipped with the Easy Loop system. There are two very short ttrails here, Fluffy Bunny and Lumberjack. Both are great for warming up or training your riding skills. There’s also a medium-sized dirt track with a soft landing if you want to practice some new tricks. The Sedlo lift wasn’t operational during my visit, so I wasn’t able to try these options myself. Also next to the lift and restaurant, there is small pumptrack. Perfect for warm up, before hitting the trails.

Kope Bike Park – Trails
In summary, there are plenty of trails and options to choose from. Each trails offer different character. However, I must admint that descents are pretty short. Most of them take about 2-3 minutes to complete. It’s worth noting, however, that once you get on the trail, there are no dull moments or idle access points. In total, there are 11 km of prepared trails. It’s great that even the short connecting trails are packed with different obstacles. All of the trails were newly built at the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025, so everything was pretty fresh in July. Downpours on the second day of the festival didn’t make it easier to ride. In places, it was a bit too soft. On the other hand, the natural-style trails were great. Fresh runs, sometimes still full of loam. Of course, the terrain will settle down over time, and adjustments will likely be necessary. It’s worth noting that the Batt Crew shaping teamt, will be maintaining the bike park throughout the whole summer season. This ensures that all trails will be maintained regularly. It’s definitely worth to mention that, whether You ride a flow trail or more natural-style line, the smoothness and flow of the trails are awesome. From the very first runs, you can have pure fun while going down.

Kope Bike Park – Lifts and infrastructure
As mentioned earilier, at Kope bike park, there are now five lifts available to bikers. Each serves a different trail zone. Shorter lifts to the Sedlo and Velika Kopa zones are served by tow lifts equipped with the excellent and easy-to-use Easy Loop system (the same is used at Wexl Trails). Unfortunately, the main chairlifts are simple, non-detachable structures with very classic bike hooks. As a result, even though you don’t cover a lot of distance or elevation, getting with your bike up to the start of a trail takes a lot of time. You quickly get used to good lifts, and before visiting Kope, I spent several days in Schladming, Leogang, and Saalbach, where the lift covers two or three times the distance and elevation gain in the same time, so it was a bit tiring on the first day. If you want to spend all day riding the various trails at Kope, you will have to spend a lot of time on the lift. But it’s worth it. The different zones spread out bikers across a large area, and even during the Flat Out Days festival, queues were relatively small. Two of the most popular trails, the Horseshoe and Holy Grail, are accessible from two different lifts, so you could always choose the one with the shorter waiting line.

The Kope resort is fully equipped for bikers and tourists. Bike rentals, service and bike washers are available on-site. The resort is located in the middle of the forest, about an half an hour drive from the nearest larger town, Slovenj Gradec. Kope boasts a modern hotel and a good restaurant. Interestingly, the price of all-day bike park passes also includes a bikers meal at the local restaurant. It’s a simple dish, but you can also exchange it for a discount on pizza. The resort also offers children’s attractions and numerous scenic hiking and biking trails. It’s the perfect place for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in the surounding of nature.

Kope Bike Park – Bike passes
Kope bike park passes can be purchased on-site at the ticket office or, for a slightly lower price, online. Prices vary depending on the season. The highest prices are in July and August, and are slightly cheaper in June, September, and October. A one-day adult pass in July cost €36. As mentioned above, one-day and multi-day passes also include a meal for the rider. Of course, multi-day or 4-hour passes are available too. If you want to ride the trails by e-bike without using the lift, you need to purchase a day pass for €8. There are also available cheaper passes for Juniors (14-18 years old), Children (5-13 years old), and Families (2+2). There’s also a special, cheaper pass for beginners who want to ride only at the Sedlo area. Prices are quite affordable, especially compared to other European bike parks. In 2025, after the summer holidays, Kope Bike Park will only be open from Friday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All most actual info You will find at official website od Kope Bike Park.

Kope Bike Park – Summary
Overall, the completely new Kope Bike Park made a very positive impression on me. Already after my previous visit, I knew the place had potential. Now, finally, we have here a great network of diverse trails where you can have a lot of fun. I’m very pleased that the focus isn’t just on smooth flow trails, but also on great natural options. There really is something for every rider here. The green flow trails are easy but also really enjoyable. I also really liked the concept of mixing natural-style lines with sections of flowy berms. Finally, there are jump lines, from small table jumps to the enormous Hammer line. The lifts aren’t very fast, but at least the bike passes aren’t very expensive. Also riders meal included in the ticket is a very nice touch. There are also beautiful views and a very pleasant, chill-out atmosphere. Of course, this project isn’t over yet. More trails and obstacles are being built all the time. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on Batt Crew and Kope Bike Park’s progress. I’ll be happy to return here and ride some more!
