The Bike Kingdom kicks off the 2026 season on 14 May, once again delivering the full package for mountain bikers: an endless trail network, perfectly shaped park lines, top-tier events like the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, and forward-looking projects such as Mountain Bike Signage 2.0 and the Bike Kingdom Learning Lab. From the first early-season laps to golden autumn rides, everything is set for a long and diverse bike summer.
Season start and operating times
The 2026 bike season in Lenzerheide gets underway on 14 May in the Bike Kingdom Park, marking the start of the pre-season. Following the Ascension weekend, operations continue on weekends before the Rothorn gondola switches to daily service from 4 June. Arosa follows on 30 May, while the Alpenbikepark Chur already opens its first lines on 2 May. Full operation across the entire Bike Kingdom – with (almost) all lifts and trails running – begins on 27 June.
A standout for long summer days remains the Late Shred in the Bike Kingdom Park: from 5 July to 15 August, the Rothorn gondola runs until 20:00, setting the stage for extended after-work sessions.
Trails & tours: the heart of the Bike Kingdom
In 2026, the Bike Kingdom remains what it does best: a massive playground spanning three regions, two bike parks and over 900 kilometers of legal trails. Thanks to the Graubünden Fairtrail campaign, all trails that are not explicitly prohibited are open to mountain biking – unlocking a unique level of freedom on the bike.
The Bike Kingdom Park delivers with its five freeride classics – FLOWline, PRIMEline, SHOREline, STYLEline and STRAIGHTline – covering everything from smooth flow to technical downhill and plenty of airtime.
But the true strength of the Kingdom lies beyond the park. Between Lenzerheide, Arosa and Chur stretches a vast network of natural singletracks, each with its own character. The Hörnli Trail in Arosa is a perfect example of flow riding, offering a consistent rhythm and pure fun, while The Great White on the Parpaner Weisshorn brings a more alpine, technical challenge that demands precision and focus.
For those looking to link it all together, the tour options deliver the full Bike Kingdom experience. Classics like the Furcletta/Welschtobel loop push riders physically and technically – sometimes even requiring a short hike – but reward the effort with remote valleys, stunning views and unforgettable singletrack sections.
Events: from season kick-off to World Cup action
The 2026 event calendar keeps the Bike Kingdom buzzing all summer long. It all starts with the Bike Kingdom Opening from 6-7 June in Lenzerheide, featuring races, side events and a proper kick-off party.
Just two weeks later comes the season’s first major highlight: the “Anniversary Edition X” of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series from 19-21 June. For the tenth time, the international elite returns to Lenzerheide to compete in Short Track, Cross-Country Olympic and Downhill. Around the races, the event has evolved into a full-on festival, blending highend performance mountain biking, community, vast exhibition and party like hardly any other UCI World Cup venues.
July is all about community and creativity. At Last Rider Standing on 4 July, teams of two race against the gondola itself, while the Bike Kingdom Hunt Arosa (10-12 July) challenges teams to combine strategy, navigation and trail skills. In August, the focus shifts to families with the Family Bike Vibes in Arosa (7-9 August), before the Bike Kingdom Testride (4-6 September) offers the chance to test the latest bikes and gear. The program is rounded out by the Bike Kingdom Kids Cup, giving young riders their own race platform across multiple stops.
New momentum: Signage 2.0 and the Learning Lab
With the introduction of Mountain Bike Signage 2.0, the Bike Kingdom takes on a pioneering role. As a pilot region, Vaz/Obervaz is implementing a new system that combines a visible base network of trails, clear destination signage and improved on-trail information. The goal is to make navigation more intuitive and better reflect the full trail offering.
At the same time, the Bike Kingdom Learning Lab in Canols is being expanded into a dedicated training hub for kids and families. New tech lines, a jumpline and structured practice areas create a safe space where riding skills and responsible trail behavior go hand in hand. Additional skill loops along the Lenzerheide valley trail offer easy ways to work on technique during a regular ride.
With a strong mix of proven trail infrastructure, international events and smart developments, the Bike Kingdom heads into 2026 ready to underline its reputation as one of the most versatile mountain bike destinations in the Alps.
