Last fall, jack-of-all-trades in mountain biking Joe Barnes teamed up with fellow Scotsman and veteran rider Pete Scullion to explore the high-alpine singletracks of Bike Kingdom. Touching down by plane and van, they almost jumped straight on their bikes and made every moment count – on and off the trails. Long days, epic lines, plenty of laughs, hearty local food, and a shared passion for riding defined the trip.
Filmed in Joe’s unmistakable creative style, “Cheesy Dreams” captures two unique riders pushing trails, having fun, and fully embracing one of Switzerland’s most diverse mountain bike destinations. Not to mention the eponymous cheese fondue. And yes, the video is exactly as funny as you’d expect.
It was incredible – I was blown away by how much there was to explore right in front of us. Heading up on the lifts, looking down at the bike park and then higher into the mountains, seeing all those winding singletracks was so exciting, and getting to ride them was next level. Riding with Pete made it even better – we had such a fun time exploring the trail network, with big days out, riding all the way down to Chur, a swim along the way, and loads of laughs. Riding trails like Parpan One Way again and again without ever feeling bored was a highlight – and of course, eating plenty of warm Swiss cheese. Just an all-round amazing trip.
